Disability Access Ramp – Carnon Downs

Scope of Work:

Remove old plant bed
Remove plants
Mark out and shutter the ramp area
Leave a gap between edge of ramp and door cill and add pea gravel fro soakaway
Concrete ramp
Leave current steps at the corner
Use UVR grey resin bond gravel for the finish
Paint the side of the ramp with black bitumen paint

Result:

Wheelchair access replaced old steps with an anti slip UVR grey resin bond gravel finish that matches the client's grey pebble dash wall. Kept parts of the original steps in the corner to give the client both access options.

Children's Playground area and Playpark – Truro

Remove blue slate chipping and wooden lawn border
400mm of top soil stripped and levelled using a mini digger
Heavy duty weed membrane installed to prevent regrowth
200mm of MOT type 1 sub-base laid for stability
Whacker plate used to compact the MOT type 1 sub-base
200mm of wood chipping added for safety
Assembly and installation of children's playpark structure

Result:

A complete garden transformation into a safe, fun children's playpark. The area was cleared, top soil stripped and levelled using a mini digger, secured with a heavy duty weed membrane and MOT Type 1 sub-base, compacted with a whacker plate, then finished with a woodchip safety surface. The wooden play structure with climbing ladders, swings, slide, and treehouse-style cabin provides a fantastic outdoor space for children to enjoy.

Driveway Gate – Redruth

Removal of old gate
Installation of new closed off bespoke swan neck gate
Heavy duty galvanised hinges installed
Galvanised drop pins installed
Heavy duty wheels installed
Galvanised throw over gate loop with handle installed

Result:

Bespoke wooden gate installed to enhance privacy, security, and kerb appeal. Heavy duty wheels installed making it easier for client to open and shut the gate. Each gate designed and built to the client's specifications with high-quality hard wood and galvanised heavy duty ironmongery.

Exit Fire Door Replacement - Penzance High Street

Scope of Work:

Removal of old non-compliant fire doors (front and rear)
Installation of new certified steel fire doors
New steel door frames with intumescent strips and smoke seals
Fire-rated hinges and opening/closing handle sets installed
Panic push bar emergency exit and pin code entrance hardware to rear door
Key lock and push pad emergency exit hardware to front door

Result:

Both front and rear wooden fire doors replaced with fully certified steel fire doors and frame, complete with intumescent strips, smoke seals, and compliant ironmongery. The rear door now features a panic push bar for safe emergency egress and pincode for safe entrance, and the front door provides a secure keylock and emergency push pad hardware, as well as a modern appearance for this commercial property while meeting all current fire safety regulations.

Clearance of gravel and old wooden patio deck
Excavation, concrete edging kerbs removal and ground preparation under the old decking area ready for a new base
Heavy duty weed membrane installed
Installation of MOT type 1 sub-base, compacted with whacker plate for stability
SBR and cement mix applied to concrete to increase adherence
Priming slurry applied to the back of the porcelain slabs
3 recessed manhole covers used to replace old plastic round ones
Laying of grey porcelain slabs using a 4:1 semi wet mix and 5mm cyclone spacing
Edge of slabs cut 150mm away from external walls ready for the 20mm white gravel and grey grout installed
Final site clean-up and waste removal

Result:

A complete garden transformation featuring a sleek grey porcelain slabs, replacing the old wooden deck, gravel and path stones, providing security and a polished finish, turning a previously overgrown and cluttered space into a modern, usable outdoor living area.

Installed a bespoke front gate in hardwood and galvanised ironmongery
4m bespoke main driveway gate installed with 4x2 timber thunder bolted into the wall and treated 6" post on the other side to support the gate's weight
Galvanised ironmongery and heavy duty gate wheels fitted
2m featheredge fence on the side closing off the gap between the Cornish hedge and gate
Both gates and side fence fully varnished

Result:

A complete front and main driveway gate installation given the owners privacy, security, noise reduction and adding kerb appeal at the same time.
